Well that was a first ever! A wedding Friday night and a wedding Saturday – back to back weddings!!!!
Friday 07-18-14 – Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Obara!
Unfortunately we missed the ceremony since we could not get off of work, but we were there for the reception, which was held at Hale Koa Hotel. I’ve been to one other wedding at Hale Koa Hotel and once again I was not disappointed with the huge line up of FOOD!!!! I swear they have the biggest variety and Matt was happy because there was crab! Not to mention, it was hosted bar so we had a bit (too) many Jack and Cokes and beers!
The Obara wedding was very personal – from hand crocheted rabbits as part of the centerpiece to a homemade Spiderman themed slideshow; it was all quite *cute*! We wish them the very best and I am a bit jealous because they’re going on a Mediterranean Cruise for their honeymoon!!! I can’t wait until Matt and I go on our very first cruise together! That won’t be a for a while though since we’re trying to find a house first, but nothing wrong with wishful thinking right! Oops, back to the subject at hand, Congratulations again Marcus and Daisy!
Saturday 07-19-14 – Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Nishii!
To be honest, Matt and I woke up a bit intoxicated from the night before. We rolled out of bed and got ready to attend the Nishii wedding at Halekulani! If you don’t know, Halekulani is one of the most luxurious hotels on Oahu. We attended one other wedding here as well, but it was at nighttime so I was excited to see how a daytime wedding differs!
The view from upstairs (once we finally go there) is GORGEOUS! It’s kind of a funny story because we arrived with some friends and were waiting down by the lawn trying to figure out who everyone was. We knew the bride and groom didn’t have a large party – only one best man and a matron of honor. Scratching our heads we thought, “who are all these people??? Why do we not know a single person????” A lady, whom none of us knew, came up to us and said, “oh how do you know Ryan?” and one friend answered, “we’re childhood friends (when they really weren’t haha)”. We waited there a few more minutes and started to get very suspicious. Come to find out, we were at the wrong wedding!!!! Who would’ve known two Ryan weddings would be held at the same place at the same time – one on the lawn and one upstairs!
We made our way up the stairs and to the correct wedding just in the nick of time to watch the ceremony. It was a beautiful wedding and we’re so happy for our friends, Ryan and Krystle! We wish them a lifetime of happiness as they embark on the next chapter in their lives!
All our friends are getting married *tear! We’re so grateful to be a part of their BIG DAY! Next up are the KK’s (Kai and Kristen)!!
