09.24.14 – A BIG day in Mathy history!
Maybe it does not trump the day I married my best friend on 4.20.13. But, it does come pretty close to being a HUGE stepping stone for us. After all the ups and downs, rejections and emotional roller coaster ride that we went on for over three months, we have finally entered the home owners world of mortgage, grass cutting, house cleaning, and all that other good stuff that comes with being a homeowner!
I am so ecstatic that we finally found a place to call our ‘Home Sweet Home’
It was a pretty rough ride to get here, but the victory tastes oh so sweet! Just when I thought about giving up, the “perfect” house popped up. It is in no way perfect, but the room for growth and what you can do to the house is perfect for OUR future and what we want! I am extremely thankful and especially, I must say thanks to the Mr. for being so patient with me throughout the whole process. Buying a house is similar to getting married – stress levels increase, money flies out of your wallets, friendly arguments are fought, tears are shed, but the ending is a happy one and well worth all the efforts put forth!
And look at our view of the gorgeous Ko’olau Mountains! I can’t wait to wake up every morning to this AND next to the man I love, together with the many dogs that we will have (yes, I already started looking on Hawaiian Humane Society‘s website) and our piggy (I still want a pig!) and our double chins, Gil and our fishies! We might as well start a farm, which fun fact about the house – at the very beginning… it was actually a ranch!
Come stop by the Mathy hale (which means house in Hawaiian) and say “hello!”
Before I head off to do some house work (hehe), I must give one last shout out to our realtor, Scott, of Island Realtors, LLC! Thank you so much for your patience throughout the whole process; we couldn’t have done it without you!

I’m sooooo excited for you folks. I only wish I could see your home for myself. The next time I’m visiting, I hope you’ll invite me over to play with your soon to be dogs/pig. Love, Aunty Pam

I don’t understand why my comment says, “Awaiting moderation”. Huh? Anyway, please post lots and lots of photos as you guys move in and make this house your home. Congratulations Ho-mo-na’s!
