Luna is 8 months old already! She’s been with us for nearly 6 months and I wanted to share some of our recent adventures – both the good and the bad! Shall we start with the bad? Here goes….
Luna 1 | Paper Towel Roll 0
This girl will destroy anything she gets her paws on! She somehow was able to knock the paper towel roll off the counter top and then destroy it to little bits and pieces! It’s like a hurricane destroyed our dining room! Before, we would joke saying things like, will today be a category 1 or 4 hurricane, but hopefully it’s just a tropical depression storm, in regards to cleaning up her mess. Now we have bigger things to worry about! We must keep everything out of reach and securely tucked away.
Luna 1 | Carpet 0
Now this, this hole is like a meteor came crashing down from the heavens above. *BOOM* The worst part is, there is not only one hole, but TWO! Two holes in the dining room carpet! It is an eye sore, if I ever did see one. Grrrrrrrrr. Matt thinks I’m secretly jumping for joy on the inside since I’ve been wanting to change out the carpet, even though it’s brand new. While I did have plans to eventually change the flooring, I was not anticipating it would be so soon. It’s bittersweet.
With these recent challenges, it is quite obvious Luna needs more exercise and mental stimulation. So now we can move on to the fun adventures ~
Building Socialization Skills – Car Rides, Walks & Friends!
For some reason, Luna is very timid with new people and animals, so we are trying to socialize her more. It’s great that many of my friends are dog lovers, because she already got to meet a few fur friends – Kuma, Kookie, Noods and Baba! She still needs to meet Saru, Mocha, Poli, Diesel and Belle!
In addition to fur friends, she also is in the process of making new human friends, such as my nephew! They’re the same size but she is double his weight!
Luna also had her very first beach experience! Isn’t Lanikai Beach gorgeous! I don’t think she was too fond of the water, but she did especially love eating the sand. Needless to say, she pooped a sandbox the next day!
Of course no adventure is complete without nap time! This is one of our favorite things to do on the weekend.
We are trying taking her on more walks and car rides and hopefully slowly but surely she will untuck her tail and be comfortable wherever we go and whomever we’re with! Luna has miles more to go towards being obedient, trained and trusting towards others, but she’s getting there. She remains sweet and loving and I’m so happy we have her in our life!
We also signed her up for obedience school and that starts July 1st, so stay tuned for more Luna adventures!

Holy crap…Luna sure had a busy day! I guess all puppies need to do something destructive before it’s not cute anymore. Our Kekoa ate drywall and furniture. Haunani chewed on my glasses, popped out one of the lenses and now it’s scratched so badly that I can barely see out of it. You guys are doing all the right things for Luna, so keep it up all she’ll do great. Xoxo, Aunty Pam
