This past weekend, I experienced my very first professional massage at Bella Viva Salon & Spa in Windward Mall!  It was not just any ol massage …. but a “two to tango” couples massage!  Oooohhh la la!

When the hubby saw “couples massage” pop up on our shared calendar, the first thing he said was, “what the heck is a couples massage!?!?!”  Maybe he was a bit frightened!  To his relief though, I wasn’t planning on going with him anyways!  It was a date with my bestie!

When we’re together, we’re probably the most indecisive and childish kids ever.  When we first got there, we had to fill out a form marking the “do” and “do not” touch areas!  Of course, we giggled as we put a big ol X on our buttocks.  After that, we were taken to our lovers quarters, which was dimly light with ever so soft soothing sounds playing in the background.  We were told to get undressed and lay face down on the bed.

As our masseuse exited the room, we laughed at each other not knowing what to do.  We weren’t given any robes so how were we to undress and quickly get under the bed covers without too much showing.  Before all that though, we had to document our lovers room with a selfie!

Apparently, we were taking too long because there was a knock at the door and we had to shoo them away since we weren’t ready yet.  Finally, we figured out a good plan as I tossed my bestie my bra from the bed so she could toss it into the closet!  We were finally ready for our massage!

About 45 minutes later, our massage was complete!  I especially liked the warm, toasty bed and the hot towel!  Bestie enjoyed the unusual knee massage!  Who knew your knees need a massage every now and then too!

Our massage was finished off with an iced tea!  Of course, us newbies didn’t follow instructions well because apparently we were supposed to exit the room after getting dressed.  Instead we were dilly dallying waiting for them to come back in!  After some time had passed, we figured we better leave the room and sure enough, they were waiting to greet us outside with our iced tea!  Funny thing is, we took so long the ice in our iced tea melted hahaha!

My first massage ever couldn’t have gone any better!  “Try something new that I’ve never done before” was on my list of things to accomplish in 2017!  I think this counts as something new and with four more months to go in 2017, there’s still time to try another “new” experience with the best partner in crime ever, my bestie!  Can’t wait for more adventures!
